The GPSMAP 62SC is packed full of innovative features, with 3.5GB of internal memory for high-resolution mapping, 200 routes, 2000 saved locations, paperless geocaching, geo-tagged photo navigation, and much more.

The GPSMAP 62SC model comes with a 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass, which shows your heading even when you're standing still, and not holding the unit level. The barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your altitude, and keep an eye on changing weather conditions outdoors.

With the GPSMAP 62SC's built-in 5 megapixel autofocus camera, you'll be able to capture the highlights of your outings. Each photo is automatically geotagged with the location of where it was taken, allowing you – or those you share your photos with – to easily navigate back to that spot in the future. If you use the GPSMAP 62SC for in-vehicle navigation (with optional mapping), the map page will show your position as a triangle, the road you are on, and other roads around you. Key in or pick a destination (number, street, suburb) from a list, and the GPSMAP 62SC will calculate the route for you, either quickest or shortest. The selected route shows as a wide bright line, and will now prompt you to move in the direction of the route with beeps at each turn. Everything on the map is to scale, just like a street directory.

The GPSMAP 62SC also includes Garmin's TracBack Feature, which allows you to retrace your path back to where you started. With the GPSMAP 62SC, you can measure an area for farming and other rural and marine applications. Area measurement is simple and fast. Just walk, drive or ride around the perimeter to be measured, press a button, and there you have it. A really productive feature for farmers, botanists, agronomists, graziers, oyster and fish culture, salt-works... etc etc. For farming, agriculture, agronomy, aquaculture and related endeavours, the GPSMAP 62SC measures distances and directions between points, and area measurements.
