The Garmin Dakota 20 is an easy to use, palm-sized, high-sensitivity GPS navigator. With an intuitive touchscreen interface, you'll be able to explore the outdoors without worrying about getting lost. The rugged 2.6" sunlight-readable, colour, touchscreen display, 20hr battery life, compact form and IPX7 waterproof rating (1 meter of water for up to 30mins) makes the Dakota 20 the perfect companion for your outdoor adventures.

The high-sensitivity GPS receiver with Hotfix™ acquires your position quickly and maintains its precise GPS location, even in heavy cover and deep canyons. Dakota 20 comes with a preloaded worldwide basemap, as well as 850MB of internal memory and a microSD card slot to accept Garmin compatible mapping, such as Topo Australia, or 5m contours.

The built-in 3-axis electronic compass shows your heading even when you're standing still or not holding the device level. The barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude, and you can even use it to plot barometric pressure over time, which can help you keep an eye on changing weather conditions. Measure elevations, to an accuracy of a few metres, and decide on heads of water. Envisage property land form, or dam design, with the elevation profile on any track. For recreation or aviation, work out rates of climb and descent, and read the elevation history profile. The Garmin Dakota 20 also includes Garmin's TracBack Feature, which allows you to retrace your path back to where you started.

The Dakota 20 has area measurement functions, making it equally useful for farmers, loss adjusters, land-owners, agricultural consultants, and aquaculturalists. Area measurement is simple and fast.
