Like the rest of the units in the eTrex series, the Vista H is a lightweight and compact GPS. A great choice for hiking, bush walking, or international travel.

The Vista H features a new generation ultra-sensitive GPS chip, 18 hour battery life, Barometric altimeter, Electronic compass and USB interface. You can load detailed marine mapping, street mapping, or contour mapping onto the 24MB internal memory.

Other important features include pan/zoom map page, 1000 waypoint storage, tracbak feature, area and distance measurement, and computer connectivity via USB.

The Garmin eTrex Vista H is waterproof and runs for 18hrs from 2 AA batteries.

With the barometric altimeter, measure elevations, to an accuracy of a few metres, and decide on heads of water. Envisage property land form, or dam design, with the elevation profile on any track. For recreation or aviation, work out rates of climb and descent, and read the elevation history profile.

The preloaded basemap includes Australia/SW Pacific road and feature mapping - displaying lakes, rivers, cities, roads coastlines and landmarks. You can save up to 10 track files (each up to 750 points) and 20 routes with 125 waypoints. The built-in electronic compass provides bearing information, even while you're standing still. The barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude (accurate to ± 3m) and allows you to plot barometric pressure over time.

It is fully waterproof, so don't be afraid to load Garmin marine map Bluechart to use in the boat. It can withstand the elements or an accidental dunk in water.

The four-way cursor allows for smooth, easy one-hand operation. Use on a bike or quad - perfect for farm, ornithology, planning or environmental work.
