The
GPS 60 stores up to 500 user waypoints with graphic icons. Various geographic and grid formats for position, are available for advanced users. GARMIN's exclusive
TracBack feature will reverse your track log (up to 10,000 points), and help you navigate your way back home. The log is also used to calculate the area of the track.
Area measurement is simple and fast. Just walk, drive or ride around the perimeter to be measured, press a button, and there you have it. A really productive feature for farmers, botanists, agronomists, graziers, oyster and fish culture, salt-works... etc etc. Ask for our special instructions, free on purchase of this GPS. For farming, agriculture, agronomy, aquaculture and related endeavours, the
GPS 60 also measures distances and directions between points.
New technology includes a quadrifilar antenna for superior reception (external aerial is optional), View your location on a large, sharp, four-level grayscale screen for excellent separation and contrast. Be aware with the audible alarms for waypoints, hazards, and anchor.
Packages are available with mounting bracket for vehicle or boat, external aerial, and the combined power and data cable. This allows for a permanent external power source, and also real time plotting of GPS positions on computer, or later downloading of waypoints. When used outside of the vehicle or boat, the
GPS 60 simply unclips, and will use the internal 2 AA cells for up to 28 hours.
The
GPS 60 is a differential capable GPS, ie DGPS. You can achieve consistently greater accuracy (2-3 metres) with the addition of a differential beacon or satellite receiver.
Examples of compatible devices include the

And the
Omnistar Hemisphere R110 Beacon.
The GPS60 is supplied with a USB computer cable, lanyard, belt clip, and a CD-ROM, with the Trip and Waypoint Manager software for use on the computer.
