Overview
- Use optional Australian Street Mapping or marine charts
- Micro SD card slot for flexible map options
- Fast processing for outdoor guidance and street by street route calculation
Garmin
GPSMAP 60CSx has a Micro SD card slot, as well as an barometric altimeter, and an electronic compass. The auto-routing capability for Australian street mapping, street numbers, and points of interest is optional, available on CD rom or pre-loaded Micro SD card. The
GPSMAP 60CSx comes standard with an internal memory map of Asia/Australia showing major and connecting roads, and some natural features. Marine charting is another option available on CD rom or memory card.
The
GPSMAP 60CSx can be used successfully as an In-Car device. It is completely portable - move it from vehicle to vehicle - no installation - no in-vehicle CD roms. The Garmin
GPSMAP 60CSx also has
area measurement functions, so making it equally useful for farmers, land-owners, agricultural consultants, and aquaculturalists. The altimeter function makes the CSx really useful for determining land elevations, for planning water conservation and reticulation. The
Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx also includes Garmin's
TracBack Feature, which allows you to retrace your path back to where you started.
For farming, agriculture, agronomy, aquaculture and related endeavours, the
GPSMAP 60CSx measures distances and directions between points, and area measurements.
With the flexibility of the Micro SD memory card (a slot is provided inside the battery compartment, so water-proofing is not compromised), you can have street mapping for different countries, and marine charting loaded on the same card.
The barometric altimeter allows you to measure elevations, to an accuracy of a few metres, and decide on heads of water. Envisage property land form, or dam design, with the elevation profile on any track. For recreation or aviation, work out rates of climb and descent, and read the elevation history profile.
If you use the
GPSMAP60CSx for in-vehicle navigation (with optional Mapsource mapping), the map page will show your position as a triangle, the road you are on, and other roads around you. Key in or pick a destination (number, street, suburb) from a list, and the
GPSMAP60CSx will calculate the route for you, either quickest or shortest. The selected route shows as a wide bright line, and will now prompt you to move in the direction of the route with beeps at each turn. Everything on the map is to scale, just like a street directory.
