The high-sensitivity GPS receiver and sunlight readable touchscreen on the
Oregon 400t, allows for easy operation and it conveniently runs on 2 x AA batteries (up to 16hrs) so you can be sure to have power when you need it. You can customise the
Oregon 400t with five different user profiles - Automative, Marine, Recreation, Fitness, or Geocache - versatile enough to suit whatever your needs. It even accepts Geocaching GPX files directly to your unit so you can get on with your hunt without having to type in co-ordinates or write down instructions.
The
Garmin Oregon 400t comes preloaded with state-of-the-art 3-D elevation perspective and topographic map data of Australia, allowing you to estimate terrain difficulty. The included routable road content is provided by NAVTEQ and HEMA, and contains everything from urban streets to national highways including famous outback routes such as Birdsville, Strzelecki, Oodndatta, Canning Stock and more. You can search for points of interest by name or proximity and include lodging, entertainment, food, airports, parks, campsites, caravan parks and more.
The preloaded mapping includes railways, tracks, paths and trails (including 4WD destinations), national, regional and local park coverage as well as water coverage of perennial and seasonal lakes, rivers and streams.

Oregon 400t on! It's fully waterproof and rugged enough to withstand bumps, dust, dirt, humidity and water. You can also wirelessly share your waypoints, routes and geocaches with other Oregon and Colorado users. All at the touch of a button!
With a built in electronic compass and barometric altimeter you can get bearing information and precise altitude information. Even while standing still. You can even plot barometric pressure over time to keep track of changing weather conditions. Measure elevations, to an accuracy of a few metres, and decide on heads of water. Envisage property land form, or dam design, with the elevation profile on any track. For recreation or aviation, work out rates of climb and descent, and read the elevation history profile.
The
Oregon 400T has
area measurement functions, making it equally useful for farmers, loss adjusters, land-owners, agricultural consultants, and aquaculturalists. Area measurement is simple and fast. Garmin's exclusive
TracBack feature can log a trail automatically for up to 5 days (10,000 points), Reverse the log and you can navigate your way back home. It is also used to calculate the area of the track, making it very useful for farming, aquaculture, botanical and other pursuits.
