The new
Nuvi 265W is the latest Garmin touchscreen navigator with a 4.3" widescreen, and Bluetooth handsfree calling with a compatible mobile phone. Simply dial numbers via the touchscreen keypad to make a call, or give the screen a tap to answer calls. You can even direct dial Points of Interest - making it easy to book hotels etc.
The
Nuvi 265W comes pre-loaded with City Navigator Australia and New Zealand 2010 mapping, to give you turn by turn directions with text-to-speech ("In 100 metres, turn right on Geoffrey Avenue").
You can combine the Nuvi 265W with the optional
GTM 25 traffic receiver (service currently available in Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne only) to get real time traffic updates and have the option of being re-routed around hazards and delays.

You can also navigate to
Geotagged photos and go sight seeing. The pre-loaded maps also feature over 600,000 points of interest so you'll always have somewhere new to visit. The "
Where Am I?" feature will help you find the closest hospitals, police and gas stations, nearest address and intersections. It can even record a track log of your journey.
The
Nuvi 265W has a high-sensitivity GPS receiver for better performance and reception - even near tall buildings and HotFix™ to decrease satellite acquisition times. Your Nuvi comes with
ecoRoute preloaded, you can save money on fuel costs by finding more fuel-efficient routes and receive real-time feedback on the efficiency of your driving.
The SD card slot can be used for additional maps and images.
Additional features include a Picture Viewer, Calculator, Currency Converter, Unit Converter and World Clock. Unique Garmin functions include configurable vehicle icons, and Garmin Lock™. This disables all unit functions, until the you type in a specific 4-digit PIN, or take the unit to a predetermined secure location.
The POI (point of interest) proximity alert feature is standard and this enables Speed camera, School zone, Red light camera and other Black spot data to be downloaded for advanced audible and visual warnings.

The
Nuvi 265W also records a
track log of your movements, which can be viewed onscreen & downloaded to a computer (using optional MapSource software). The track log includes time, direction, distance, speed (at average 20 second intervals), and can output as a text or CSV file suitable for further analysis.
