With the
OziExplorer PPC expansion pack, you can extend the usefulness of
OziExplorer by being able to use OziExplorer on your PocketPC.
OziExplorer PPC is interactive, raster image, trip planning and moving map software, which uses raster map images which are either scanned or purchased in digital format. It allows you to track your position received from a GPS on a map.
You can create your own routes on the map and navigate along those routes. You can plan your trip using
OziExplorer on your PC and then transfer your waypoints and other data to your PocketPC or PDA for use by
OziExplorer PPC.
For real time navigation, almost any GPS receiver with NMEA 0183 ouptut can be used. This GPS receiver can be built-in to the PocketPC/PDA or external.
Using the "Screen Designer" software on your PC, you can design your own screens (Up to 20 screens) with the parameters to suit you. Screen designs to suit many applications such as moving map, navigation, geocaching, satellite, compass, altitude, track profiles etc. Personalise
OziExplorer PPC to suit your own needs.
OziExplorer PPC automatically loads the next appropriate map and has automatic route prompting with user created routes (voice and symbol). If activated, a more detailed map will be searched for at a user defined interval even if you are still on the current map. You can create a routes, tracks and waypoints on the screen using the stylus.
5 user tracks can be loaded and there is on screen display of speed and bearing. The speed monitor (can be turned off) will play .wav files (or standard beeps) when speed thresholds are crossed. (Under min speed, over set speed or over max speed.)
When in moving map mode, Track Logging can be turned on so the track can be automatically logged to a file. The track is also logged into memory and displayed on the map as a track tail (up to 1000 points are kept in memory).
There are many map zoom levels and various position display formats. You can even drag map objects to a new position using your stylus.
Fully configurable logbook function can automatically log position, date/time, and other parameters when the configured conditions such as elapsed time, distance, heading and speed change are met. A snapshot of a small portion of the map can also be taken and added to the log entry. Manual Log Book entries can be made.
Please Note: OziExplorer cannot upload maps to any GPS Receiver.
