The Sony HDRXR520V HDD Camcorder features an "Exmor R" CMOS sensor, 12.1 Mega Pixels still image capture with professional-quality Sony G Lens. 240GB hard disk drive and additional features include Face Detection, Smile Shutter, built in GPS and image stabilization.

GPS Tagging

Search for the footage you want to playback, simply by touching the spot on the Touch Screen map where you shot it.

Turn on GPS and your Sony Camcorder will log the latitude and longitude position of every piece of footage (or still image) shot. Then in playback mode a map can be displayed on your Touch Screen LCD showing where the selected footage was shot.

To choose a scene to watch, simply tap the screen marker. It's an ideal way to review and share your foreign travels.

You can also transfer your video to a PC using the included Sony PMB (Picture Motion Software) software. PMB integrates with Google Maps so you can highlight your clips then plot the footage across Australia, and the world! You can view street level and satellite images of the places you’ve visited too; then enjoy the scenes you shot there.

The "Exmor R" CMOS Sensor allows faster reading of greater amount of pixel information. It also provides smear-free images and uses less power. The combination of the CMOS Sensor with the Enhanced Imaging Processer, provides a wider dynamic range, high sensitivity, low noise, high-speed reading, and low power consumption.

The Sony G Lens features ED (Extra-low dispersion) glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration and colour fringing, and compound aspheric elements that keep images crisp and sharp, even at full zoom.

Optical Active SteadyShot smoothes out motion 10 times more effectively than ordinary optical image stabilising systems. Even when walking or shooting at a wide angle, the footage will be exceptionally smooth.

Dolby® Digital 5.1 Creator allows you to capture audio from all directions and encode it in real-time to create 5.1ch. Surround Sound.

Face detection automatically matches the focus, exposure and colour of your video and images. The smile shutter automatically detects and takes a photograph of your subject if he or she smiles. You can set the smile sensitivity setting and also give priority to childrens smiles or adults smiles (or both).
