This unit installed in your car, will send an SMS message or alarm, to ANY SMS capable mobile phone, giving the appropriate message, or latitude and longitude, and street directory reference (all capital cities). You can even check the Carminder website for a map of the street location. This unit can be installed anywhere- a bike, car, earthmoving machinery, boat, and trailer. The system can be wired to a car or boat alarm, so that it automatically sends the message when the alarm is activated. The applications are limited only by your imagination, and the range of the GSM mobile phone network.

How do you operate it?
Your car or boat alarm can activate Carminder, so that within 30 seconds it sends you an SMS message, detailing the position, direction and speed of your vehicle or boat. Or just dial the pre-set number of your Carminder using ANY SMS capable mobile phone. Within 30 seconds, Carminder sends you the same SMS message. This position can be located on a directory, or a digital map. You will also be able to send any one of 27 SMS commands so that Carminder will perform many functions, as you require them. The SMS service from carminder is pin-code protected, so you have complete control over how and where Carminder messages are sent.

What is the cost?
The only cost is the six monthly fee (approximately $30) to re-charge the SIM card on the Carminder phone, and the cost of any calls you make to the Carminder.

Componentry:
The system is manufactured in Brisbane, using quality components. It comes with a comprehensive user, and installation manual. The slimline box contains the GSM phone and aerial, electronics, and firmware, and a GPS antenna has enough cable to set up in the front or rear of the vehicle. A wiring set is for positive, negative, and 2 data wires if connected to an alarm. A pulse wire set can activate remote unlocking (locked your keys in?), lights, or any other vehicle function. Carminder can be installed by an auto-electrician. You should allow for 1-3 hours installation time, depending on what Carminder functions your require. A DIY person may decide that it is perfectly easy to install it themselves. For the technically minded, here is an installation wiring diagram.

What other applications are there?
There are many possibilities. We could extend the use of Carminder to large animals (so long as they can carry a small 12v battery). Because it is designed to send a message when a car alarm is activated, it could also be wired for any event, such as a door opening, or other electronic trigger.

Is there a warranty?
Carminder comes with 12 months warranty, and full instructions on wiring, and tips on installation. A user manual shows how to use it most effectively.
