*The GARMIN GPS 16x TracPak shown here, is a complete GPS receiver and embedded antenna designed for a broad spectrum of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) system applications. Based on the proven technology found in other GARMIN 12-channel GPS receivers, the GPS 16x will track up to twelve satellites at a time while providing one-second navigation updates and low power consumption. Its far-reaching capability meets the sensitivity requirements of land navigation as well as the dynamics requirements of high-performance aircraft. Download the specification and applications manual as a PDF file.
The GPS 16x TracPak is housed in a black, water-resistant case and designed to withstand rugged operating conditions. Size is a convenient 90mm diameter, by 45mm high, with 3mm metric screw holes for flush mounting. A magnet plate mount can be supplied. While the GPS 16x TracPak is designed as a "plug 'n play" GPS solution, the minimum system must provide a source of power and a clear view of the GPS satellites. The system may communicate with the GPS 16x via two RS-232 compatible bi-directional communication channels. Internal memory backup allows the GPS 16 to retain critical data such as satellite orbital parameters, last position, date, and time. The GPS 16 TracPak is available in both low voltage (GPS16x LVS - 3 volt) and high voltage (GPS16x HVS - 6 to 40 volt) configuration, with PPS, and NMEA data at 1 second rate. All GPS16x are supplied with a 5metre RJ45 plug interface cable. We can arrange a DB9 serial data connector and cigarette lighter adapter to be pre-wired at extra cost. GPS16X LVS
A second port on the 17xHVS is used for incoming RTCM data, to acheive DGPS accuracy of around 2-3 metres. This can create a dependability source for GPS position and timing information, because the differential beacon incorporates integrity monitoring. This unit is recommended for installations where redundancy is required. DGPS can be sourced from a beacon, or from Omnistar. For general information on the DGPS system, please vist this page. For technical specifications on the GPS 17HVS, download as a PDF file.
(Please note, the GPS 15 series have been discontinued.) The GPS 15 sensor is designed for a variety of OEM system applications, including car navigation, wireless communications, marine navigation, mapping, and more. Garmin designed this sensor to be small and affordable. It offers excellent EMI/RFI performance for easy integration into systems that will be operated near mobile computing devices and wireless communications equipment. Roughly the size of a book of matches, the GPS 15 weighs only 10 grams and offers CMOS interface.
The GPS 15 sensors are designed for a variety of OEM system applications, including car navigation, wireless communications, marine navigation, mapping, and more. (WAAS capable, for position accuracy of less than 3 meters in N America only). They also offer excellent EMI/RFI performance for easy integration into systems that will be operated near mobile computing devices and wireless communications equipment. This GPS is available in high-voltage (GPS 15 for 8-40 volts) and low-voltage (GPS 15L for 3.3 - 5 volts) configurations. The GPS 15 weighs approximately 15 grams, and measures about the size of a matchbook. Offers one-pulse-per-second timing and an RS-232 interface. Supplied with wiring connector. You will require an antenna with an MCX connection.

The GPS35 TracPak is housed in a black, water-resistant case and designed to withstand rugged operating conditions. While the GPS35 TracPak is designed as a "plug 'n play" GPS solution, the minimum system must provide a source of power and a clear view of the GPS satellites. The system may communicate with the GPS 16 via two RS-232 compatible bi-directional communication channels. Internal memory backup allows the GPS35 to retain critical data such as satellite orbital parameters, last position, date, and time. The GPS35 TracPak is available in both low voltage (3 volt) and 6-40 volt configuration, with a 3 metre bare wire interface cable. It also is available in a PC version, with a DB9 serial data connector and cigarette lighter adapter pre-wired. Here is a long range Bluetooth application for the GPS35.
