Colour screen hand-held GPS Comparison from Johnny Appleseed GPS


  The comparison chart below is designed to give the prospective purchaser some ideas of differences in currently available handheld colour GPS. I have shown some software or firmware variations, that are significant to some buyers.

There are hardware differences, so please look up the specification page on individual models.

The following software functions or displays are on ALL Garmin hand-held models.

  • Distance and direction from current location to any other point in memory
  • Link waypoints together to form a route, to guide you from point to point automatically.
  • Backlighting (some at more than one level)
