INCLUDES complete
Australian mapping on CD, for use on computer, for destination,
route and business planning and analysis. Unlike some
in-car navigators, the StreetPilot 2610 CAN be used to input
waypoint coordinates, and be guided to off-road spots. It also
leaves a record of your track, which can be downloaded to your
Mapsource computer map, so you can build a library of your own
un-named roads.
Love going to garage
sales? New software includes the classic "travelling salesman
problem solution" (called auto-arrange), and the latest
street mapping for all provincial towns, and small towns throughout
Australia. Rural roads and tracks are included. View
List. Hardware features include button remote control (SMS
type inputs, as well as function keys), instructions can be
transparently overlaid on the map, and the touch-screen allows
zoom and pan with a finger. The auto-routing Australian street
mapping, street numbers, and points of interest is pre-loaded
on a 256MB card, and may also be used from the CD on computer.

Anyone can use the Garmin StreetPilot. It
is designed for ease of use, and fits perfectly on any
car dashboard. You can turn or tilt the screen for best
viewing angle. It is completely portable - move it from
vehicle to vehicle - no installation - no in-vehicle CD
roms.
The map page shows your position as a triangle,
the road you are on, and other roads around you. Key in or
pick a destination (suburb, street and number) from a list,
and the StreetPilot 2610 will calculate the route for you,
either quickest or shortest. The selected route shows as
a wide bright line, and will now prompt you to move in the
direction of the route with spoken instructions at each turn.
As your vehicle moves, the triangle stays in the middle of
the GPS screen, but the whole map moves underneath you. Everything
on the map is to scale, just like a street directory.
