The HAICOM Hi-601VT system is a simple compact means of keeping track of any object, using a PDA/phone, or your own computer. It uses GSM coverage to transmit position data. $550
ON-VEHICLE - We supply a minitiarised GPS sensor, with a slot for a GSM SIM card, and connects to 12v cigar socket in the vehicle. Or it can be connected to any power source, in a range of 5-12 volts.
IN THE OFFICE - In your office, we supply a telephone decoder, that hardwire connects to a mobile phone via a 2.5mm jack. The telephone decoder connects to your computer, to display geographic position coordinates, or position on a map. On the computer, you can install a professional copy of Google earth, or the UBD street directory.
SIMPLE TO USE - Just use the mobile phone to dial up the number of the on-vehicle sensor, and within a few seconds, the position of the vehicle or object is displayed on the computer screen.
If the mobile telephone used in the office** has the same GSM service providor as the SIM card in the vehicle sensor, transmission may be free. (Check with service providors). Instead of a computer, it is possible to use a combined phone/PDA, or a PDA, to display either position only, or position on a map. (We do not supply the SIM card for either the GPS or the phone)
** The mobile telephone is limited to:
(a) those models which have a stereo output jack. For example, the new Nokia 6110, or the HP6828 merged phone/PDA.
(b) Nokia phones, for which we can supply a 2.5mm jack adaptor.
