Subject: RE: Your Johnny Appleseed GPS order has been placed .........

Hello Guys, I got my unit today. Thank you for such brilliant service!!!

Kind regards, C W, Sales Director, ........................ Pty Ltd.

<<<<<<<<<< >>>>>>>>>>

Email dated 2 October 2006 ...........Hi Kimball,

Thankyou for the quote. I'm submitting a Purchase Request with our Accounts/Purchasing Department, and they will be in touch shortly. My name is ........, and I am the Exploration Manager (an Australian) for ..............., just east of Turkey. I have recently joined the company, and we are in the process of acquiring geological tools and equipment to support a 200,000m combined RC and Diamond drilling program here with an Australian Drilling Company.

Our work area is at approx. 2500m ASL, with topographic elevations varying over 500m. I have used your company before, and the service has been excellent. Please keep up the great work.

From David, 9 November 2004 discussing different in-car navigators which he has used:

"The ..xx.. has no via points option which really disappointed me. Via points are very useful and I sorely missed the function on the ..xx.....

The Garmin StreetPilot 2610 has an added feature where you can select a bunch of destinations, and it will calculate the most efficient route to vist all those destinations. This is a fantastic function for a salesman who has to vist a number of different clients during the day. The SP2610 also has an infrared remote control which allows the user to enter information and control nearly all the functions of the SP2610 from the back seat of the car if you wish. A nice touch, but the ease of use of the touch screen, may for some users make the remote control redundant.
I know about these differences, because I had a Garmin StreetPilot 3, which was stolen. So I then bought an ..xx.. as a replacement, for reasons I outline fully in my comparison. Six weeks later I sold the ..xx.., and absorbed a $400.00 loss to replace it with the Garmin StreetPilot 2610. Now I am happy again!
Now Garmin, if you could add the "3D" screen effect,.......... wow!"

Hi. Thanks for the feedback. The support from yourself (Travroute) and your reseller is excellent. The Team at Johnny Appleseed in Brisbane have already replaced the unit and it is Bluetoothing and GPSsing stronger than before. With the replaced unit I can now get up to 7 Satellites INSIDE my house.

My next project is to fit the house with wheels. Thanks

Subject: my new GPS
Ordered my GPS over the phone 4.00pm Monday. Turned up at my door 10.30am Tuesday. I can't get that sort of service in my own town. Well done and thanks....

Phone call from Alan April 2003.

"I found the Haicom (CF and PCMCIA GPS for use in laptop) far easier to set up than you had indicated. It works very well with Oziexplorer in my laptop. I've been out with it in the 4WD a few times now, and I am really pleased at how well it works in bush areas. Other club members are using handheld GPS, and my system performance lacks nothing compared to their's. I have the advantage of real mapping as well."

Greetings

Bought a basic Etrex from you last week and can't believe what a great little machine it is. Really appreciated dealing with people who know their product and their subject. Consider myself somewhat handicapped in the technology field ,yet I constantly talk to sales people who obviously know far less about their product than I do!

As I say, really appreciated your advice, expertise and quality service. Reckon I have most of the basic functions of the Etrex under some sort of control, when I have a better idea of some of the more advanced features I will give you a call about the software you sell. Have been playing with the demo versions off the web and they look very useful and a lot of fun.

Regards and thanks again
Tim.......

Kimball,

thank you very much. Received package today. Still had old driver on system. Tried new cd 'jag' and my system reported several new files on your cd. Installed and all worked great first time! Will return cd asap.

I cannot thank you enough for your assistance from my initial enquiry until well after you had my money (a time when most shops tend to treat people with less than adequate service). I am becoming more and more fussy about where I shop and can assure you that I will spread your good deeds at every opportunity (not to mention your unbeatable prices). I will be shopping with you more in the future as yours is the best service I have received from any shop in years. Thank you and all the best

Ken........

Hi Guys
Thank you for your recent assistance re digital mapping software for our 4WD tour for the ........ in NSW. The products you recommended are excellent and do the job exactly to our requirements. Having little experience or knowledge of the availability and useage of digital mapping made it difficult for me to explain my needs. Your patience and assistance is most appreciated. Thank you

Intrepid Cyclist tests Garmin eTrex and Kodak DC5000

Congratulations Michael, on the completion of a personal odyssey!

Michael Jackson completed the heritage trail stretching from Melbourne to south Queensland- by bicycle. The Garmin eTrex GPS, and a small personal Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) were part of his equipment list. A Kodak DC5000 digital camera provided daily pictures of his progress over the period March-June 2001. A distance of over 2000 kilometres, much of it through tortuous rain-forest tracks, tested the ruggedness of the Garmin and the Kodak, as well as Michael's preparedness. Visit Michael's website for records and pictures of his bike trek.

Quoting Michael about 1000km in to the trip, near Canberra.- "About a third of the trip done... and time for a bike shop for repairs! To date I have been using the e-Trex GPS daily. More often than not in marking in my night campsite for reference over the next few days, checking elevation and keeping an eye on bearings.
About four times I have really had to rely on it. These situations occurred where my topo was too large a scale, the elevation was the only key to choosing a track, to confirm an unmarked and very important turn and when bush bashing across a bike-wrecking swamp. An unreal little piece of gadgetry in these situations, and was very happy with myself for purchasing it. It saved my ass totally.

As for the EPIRB - I pat it several times daily.
If you've been checking the site you'll probably see that I've been reducing and trimming the photos from the Kodak DC5000 that I've been uploading. This is to save web space more than anything. I'd like to have one on the site which was unaltered (so you can see the quality) but they're almost 1.3MB and I'm fairly pushed for space. Please be aware of this, so the camera doesn't get a poor reference! It's just a total winner. It's taken a bashing and a dose of dust (or ten) and some ash treatment too."

My experience with photos for the web are the same. Once you start cutting down the size and the resolution, so they will load quickly on a site (which is important), the apparent quality suffers visibly.

Congratulations Michael, on the completion of a personal odyssey!
