is a Garmin MapSource product. Metroguide
can be used 3 ways:-

Many mapping
GPS, including portable car navigators, have an SD card, or Micro
SD card slot. Older units may use a CF card slot, a proprietry
Garmin memory card slot, or internal memory. If you purchase the
Mapsource map data, you will be able to load the mapping from computer
to the allocated memory on the GPS.

 Accurate land map detail
and street directory for the whole of Australia. Includes
streets, major highways, rural roads, and land features.
Streets in almost every small town, as well as major
urban areas. Use on your PC to see where you've been,
download or add waypoints, and plan routes. Find detail
addresses and features. Load the maps to any compatible
Garmin GPS. Have Garmin- will travel! 
Metroguide Australia (MGA)
is extremely accurate street level data for all towns
in Australia, plus public roadways, 4WD tracks, and rural
access roads, even in the remotest areas. Major and minor
roads are included, regardless of top surface. In some
urban areas, the mapping includes street numbers.
State
and Commonwealth reserves (such as forestry and national
parks), and
public venues (such as museums, entertainment, bus
and train stations) are often shown. When loaded in
to a Garmin GPS unit, the "find" function
for street and number, points of interest, and road
intersections is activated.
Purchase of MGA entitles
you to load one of your own GPS units with the detailed
mapping.
You can view GPS position real-time with MGA moving
map on a laptop. You may load and reload MGA map areas,
as many times as required, from the PC to your GPS.
MGA comes with a detailed mapping unlock certificate
for the whole of Australia. For further information

used with any GPS for upload/download of waypoints,
routes and tracks.

MAP
Viewer - MapSource
digital map products allow you to view a color map of
an area, down to a resolution of a few metres. All features
stay in focus no matter what zoom scale. You can easily
zoom by rectangular window, or scale, or pan to a particular
town or point of interest. Depending on the product, roads,
streets, rivers, towns and highways, points of interest
and other landmarks will be shown in perfect scale. |
REAL
TIME MOVING MAP.
All Garmin
Mapsource products allow you to connect a Garmin GPS by
cable, and track the GPS position on the map, in real-time
(would normally require a laptop computer). Metroguide
Australia only operates in real time with the appropriate
licence coded GPS. Details

GPS
Waypoint, Tracks and Route MANAGEMENT.
Metroguide can manually create waypoints and routes, or
can calculate a route based on shortest or quickest method,
from anywhere to anywhere in Australia. This information
can be loaded to any Garmin GPS. Or you can download waypoints,
routes, and tracks from the Garmin, and they will be overlayed
on the screen for direct comparison with existing information.
You can analyse downloaded GPS information such as speeds,
distances, bearings. Way point information can be annotated
and edited. Waypoints can be stored in different categories
(similar to CAD layerss). |
FILE
FUNCTIONS. Each
set of map and data you use can be saved in its own file.
Mapsource supports all the different datums and formats,
so can be made compatible with your local sheet maps,
and your GPS. With the zoom and pan functions and the
ability to create waypoints, routes, and tracks, it is
