The Magellan Professional MobileMapper 6 is an affordable
and easy-to-use professional GPS/GIS handheld receiver.
The high-sensitivity GPS receiver tracks up to 12 satellites simultaneously,
to accurately update your position every one second. Running Windows
Mobile 6, you can collect GIS data in the software of your choice.
We can supply the MobileMapper 6 with ArcPad,
GBM Mobile, OziExplorer, or the Magellan Mobile Mapping Software
(See Below). Ask for other options if you also want to
turn the device into an in-car navigator
that speaks street names!
The Mobile Mapper 6 weighs less than 224g, and is supplied with
a built in 2MP camera. Bluetooth comes standard, as well as an
SD storage option for raster maps, photos, or videos etc. Embedded
speaker and microphone make it easy to record audio files or field
notes. Running on 2 x AA batteries will allow for 10 hours of
operation.
The unit also boasts an electronic compass, and barometer; features
not typically found in this price range of rugged field computers.
Of course, the unit is rugged, waterproof to IPX7 standards, and
tested to survive drops of up to 1 metre. The MobileMapper 6 makes
electronic field work simple, and affordable.
