Each component in this kit is the highest quality we have seen, and will offer excellent results for data capture, field data audits, or just navigating back to an existing location. This system will work anywhere in Australia with sub-metre accuracy!

Nomad 900L Rugged PDA

Part Number: NMDAEY-121-00

The TDS Nomad 900L powers the package, and is used to capture and display data. With it's sunlight-readable colour screen, both aerial images and vector data such as points, lines, areas are clearly displayed. Powered by an 806MHz processor, 128MB RAM, 1GB ROM, 15 hour battery, and fully waterproof, this device is perfectly suited to outdoor GIS applications.

The Nomad 900L also has built-in wireless, and BlueTooth. We supply the Nomad with a serial boot connection, for connection to survey GPS which typically use a 9-pin DB9 plug.

Arcpad 10

ESRI's ArcPad software is included in this package. This software is specifically designed by GIS giant ESRI for simple, and efficient data capture in the field. Load your own aerial photos, cadastre, or other GIS data and use it as a background reference, or the foundation for further data capture. ArcPad integrates with ESRI's ArcMap/ArcGIS and can also export data captured in shape-file format for other systems such as AutoCAD. Customers should be aware that this software has similar capabilities to PC based ESRI products, and may require some familiarity with GIS concepts, or some time in training.

Hemisphere R131 OmniSTAR AMSA DGPS

Part Number: 940-2067-000

The Hemisphere R131 antenna and decoder is what allows the system to work at 50-70cm accuracies in realtime. This is called the VBS system (virtual base station). No time wasting back in the office using post-processing. A one year OmniSTAR satellite subscription is included in this package (Additional years are currently $2750 inc GST). An alternative High Performance Omnistar called HP is also available for 10cm accuracy ($4180 p.a. for HP Signal).

Backpack

Backpack to hold the antenna + pole, and batteries. That's it - no other heavy hardware to lug around in the backpack like some other models. The kit is supplied with 2 rechargeable sealed lead-acid batteries, and two chargers for a full days work off each battery (Li-Ion optional, see below).
