Software to work with Garmin GPS
|
GPS-Photo Link is very powerful Windows software to link digital camera photos with the latitude and longitude of the photo position. A GPS receiver is used to determine the location of the photo. The software links the time stamp of GPS data, with the time stamp of the camera. The software allows for extensive photo editing, time offsets, direction of the camera, and distance of the object, comments, and various output options. These include watermarked photos, web pages, ESRI shp files, text, GPX (for GPS manufacturers mapping products), and Google Earth. This software can download the track file from a Garmin GPS complete with time stamps, and will work with any camera that stores date and time in the photo. Standard Edition.

If you are using Arcmap (Arc GIS or ArcView) a GPS-Photo Link toolbar will be available if you order the Pro version of this software. This is a special version of GPS-Photo Link designed especially for the Ricoh Pro G3. Here are some of the features in GPS-Photo Link adapted for the Ricoh Pro G3. Support for Laser Rangefinder connected to Ricoh camera via Bluetooth allows users to enter accurate distance to objects. You can also name the pictures based on a Ricoh Memo field you can enter into the camera before taking the pictures. If you take more than one picture from the same location, the files will have "-1" and "-2" appended (see Rename files in the File Output screen). If you use ESRI’s ArcMap, you will enjoy the GPS-Photo Link’s extension that displays Ricoh Memos along with the photo when hovering over a feature point.
