TDS Nomad PDA the rugged field computer for GIS quality data collection and set-out, or capture of industrial or warehouse information, with barcode scanning functions. In GIS it is used for geology, botany, asset management, disaster planning, property management, mapping, geography, earth sciences, environmental reporting and mapping, and any other spatial recording requirement. High Speed Processing and Expansion 806 MHz Marvell PXA320 XScale processor, 128 MB RAM and includes the latest Windows Mobile 6 software. Recon Nomad runs a wide range of third-party software for industry-specific applications. A 640x480 sunlight readable 16 bit VGA color display. A Secure Digital (SDIO) slot adds to the versatility of your Nomad. Use memory cards to increase data storage for larger jobs or use other accessory cards for multiple applications. Has both a touch screen, and a built-in keypad. Long battery life Nomad is supplied with a hot-swappable rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack to keep going strong all day. Recharging time is significantly reduced with the use of lithium-ion batteries.You have at least 15 hours of continuous typical use—more than a full day's work. Ultra rugged with built-in GPS The 800L model comes with a SirF III GPS receiver built-in. This makes the Recon Nomad very useful as a stand alone device with a position accuracy of around 7-10 metres. The Nomad meets MIL-STD-810F standards for drops, vibration and temperature extremes, and it has an IP67 rating—meaning it's impervious to dust and water immersion. Testing has shown that you can submerge the Nomad one meter deep in water for up to 30 minutes without harm. Wireless Communication The TDS Nomad has built-in Bluetooth and 802.11g wireless communication capabilities. Different Models Available This table explains the different configurations.
