Not there for professionals

Yeah....probably perfectly fine for hobbyists but for professionals there are better options like Sony and even GoPro action cams. Many of the youtube videos looked better than what I can tweak out of this. If you had nothing else you could use it on normal mode to use the "Rocksteady" optical stabilisation and in good light you could get some usable shots. Not long ones though on rough roads, as, if you are using the 180 shutter rule, it still has many moments of vibration blur which will be impossible to remove in post even with a plugin like Neat video. D-cinelike is a joke for grading despite its reputed 100mbps bitrate. HDR is great to grade for a small cam and would be the choice of Pros but inexplicably "Rocksteady" won't work in this mode and nor can you use filters to set the camera to the 180 shutter rule as there is no display in that mode telling you what your shutter is! Incredible stupidity on the part of the manufacturer, are they insane? Would have been a nice little camera if they allowed pros to tweak it in HDR to where it needs to be, but right now I feel like tossing it.

Pros: Front and back screen, HDR capability, easy filter change
Cons: HDR limited, noisy in shadows, "Rocksteady" is only OK and incredibly NOT available in HDR mode

Good product hampered by average firmware

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of stills and video from the camera. While actual quality on a pixel level is similar, the Osmo Action seems to be superior in terms of metering and gets levels near perfect. Controls are easy to use and the front-facing screen is a winner. However, there are some issues: * Voice control over-rides any of your settings and defaults back to basic mode settings. * The camera is sold as the ultimate selfie device, but functionality for this purpose is limited by some stupid omissions. When you use the timer, you cannot use modes such as AEB at the same time. Needs to be fixed to achieve its hype. * Unlike Gopro, the Osmo has no desktop software available to perform basic edits, cuts and do high quality stills from video footage. While I use another editor for more complex edits, this limitation is annoying. The iOS app is virtually useless and not user-friendly * Do not release a camera and then make buyers wait for necessary accessories for a ridiculous amount of time. Fact: action cameras consume batteries at an extreme rate. Releasing a camera without spare batteries is crazy. Overall, this is a potentially great camera, but DJI have only done half the job.

Pros: Video and stills quality better than the opposition
Cons: Some stupid firmware issues
