Great - worked very well in remote areas of north WA

Overall very satisfied with that GPS... worked vey well. One last cons is that the cable was a little short so I had to extend it. But this is only applicable for my job

Pros: Easy to set up with my HBM data acquisition logger
Cons: The power plug was a bit wobbly and loose

GPS Works with Uniden Scanner

After reading a post of compatible GPS units for Uniden scanners from Radio Reference I ordered this GPS for its known compatibility and is available in Australia. While I would have preferred a Uniden genuine GPS they are not sold in Australia. Unfortunately to get the Gaman GPS to work with my Uniden scanner I had to buy a serial gender bender male-male and a serial null modem. Since buying the GPS I have used it daily with the VIC RMR and once on NSW GRN without any issues.

Pros: Works in car without being located near windows.
Cons: Extra connections required for Uniden scanner use.

Great device - did what it said it would do.

Amazingly, this device worked out of the box. It was recognised via the serial port with no intervention and provided immediate GPS data to my app. Recommended.
