With its quad helix antenna and high-sensitivity, GPS and GLONASS, receiver, GPSMAP 64st locates your position quickly and precisely and maintains its location even in heavy cover and deep canyons. When using GPS and GLONASS together, the receiver has the ability to lock onto 24 more satellites than using GPS alone, ensuring you can "lock on" to a position more quickly.

GPSMAP 64

3-axis Compass with Barometric Altimeter

Get your bearings.

GPSMAP 64st has a built-in 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass, which shows your heading even when you're standing still, without holding it level.
Its barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude, and you can even use it to plot barometric pressure over time, which can help you keep an eye on changing weather conditions.
The GPSMAP 64s is waterproof to IPX7 standards, so you can use it in any weather. You can even use it around water without worrying about damage.
With the GPSMAP 64st, you can measure an area for farming and other rural and marine applications. Area measurement is simple and fast. Just walk, drive or ride around the perimeter to be measured, press a button, and there you have it. A really productive feature for farmers, botanists, agronomists, graziers, oyster and fish culture, salt-works... etc etc. For farming, agriculture, agronomy, aquaculture and related endeavours, the GPSMAP 64 measures distances and directions between points, and area measurements.
You can also navigate to geo-tagged photos, making it a versatile GPS.

Great device, easy to use

The GPSMAP64St is a great unit. The Johnny Appleseed Deal of Case, charger and GPS was great value. The unit continues Garmin's tradition of quality engineering and outstanding functionality. I like the ability to upload custom maps to it. I found the BaseCamp Software a little clunky and couldn't get Google Earth to launch to view waypoints.

Pros: Small and accurate, easy to use
Cons: Not a touch screen, can't download waypoints to Googole Earth

Excellent product. This is the second one we have bought

We use it in field work and find it easy and quick to use and very tough. Its been used with confidence by other team members who are not technically minded at all. This is our second purchase of the same item. The cover of the first one is wearing out but it still works well. It can be used all day without failing or going flat and has never let us down.

Pros: Its tough and lasts for years and is simple to use. Plots waypoints quickly and easily
Cons: nothing

Great compact GPS with useful maps

Compact, rugged GPS that acquires and maintains a position in dense forests and inside my car. I especially like that it fits inside my shirt pocket (especially as the screen is easily scratched). The supplied topo maps are very useful. I wish that Garmin would provide a brighter colour option (eg like the yellow of the base GPS64 model).

Pros: Compact, rugged, good maps
Cons: Screen easily scratched, black/grey colour is easy to lose

Best Gps i have ever had. Mounts to my motorbike really well and screen is very easy to see when off road

Very good peice of gear. When mounted to the bike the clarity of the screen and ease of use makes off road navigation very easy. It would be better if it had a chargable battery pack inside with charge port so you can plug into 12v on bike and not worry about running out of juice. But that being said it is still the best gps i have evee owned

Pros: Screen, ease of use
Cons: Be better if it had a chargeable battery and a charge port that i can plug into 12v on bike
