Exceptional quality

Very happy with the product. Have mounted it on my navigation tower on my motorbike. It's ideal for the adventure riding I do. Fully wired it into my bike. Connects strongly to my Montana 610. Would recommend.

Pros: rugged, weatherproof, quality build

very easy to use strong mounting system

very easy to use strong mounting system, easy to clean, corrosion resistant, not too bulky to mount in different areas.

Pros: simple, solid mount easy to fit and remove, will not let GPS come out of mount once screw is tensioned
Cons: none

This mount is very solid

I found this to be well made. I've only hooked up the 12v lines to keep the Monterra charged on the quad bike. I was thinking it would come with a handlebar mount but this is not the case. So I made an aluminium plate to mount to the light housing Overall a good mount

Pros: Solid construction
Cons: Didn't come with handlebar mount

Brilliant mount

I have recently installed this unit on my KTM 690 and did 7500kms on the APC Rally without a single problem where other devices with just a mini USB were having problems frequently.

Pros: Robust and compact and all electrical contacts stayed clean and dry

Tough mount

I bought this ,for a second dirt bike. So I have used the same mount on another dirt bike for a couple of years, never had a problem. Locks are very secure, GPS has never fallen off.

Pros: Very strong, great out bush
Cons: Security screw is a bit basic.

Well designed mount for rugged use

This mount is excellent for use on adventure motocycles, trail bikes and quads - any rugged use of your Garmin Montana GPS. Maintains wiring connections regardless of conditions.

Pros: Simple yet tough design, integrated wiring
Cons: none

Good quality, well fitting device

I use this mount in conjunction with a Touratech GPS mount on a motorcycle to hold a Monterra GPS . It fits perfectly into the Touratech mount and once wired into the power supply of the bike, made for an excellent mounting assembly. Very secure and has handled all sorts of weather and conditions without any issues.

Pros: Very secure even if locking screw not used, GPS unit easily fitted and removed using gloves.
Cons: None found as yet.

Mounting security with rugged use questionable

For rugged off road motorcycle use the security of the parts that hold the gps on do not look substantial enough to prevent the gps from coming out.

Pros: Slim and variable mount positions
Cons: Locking mechanism

Hi Ross. The AMPS mount is extremely secure, but you need to make sure you tighten the security screw on top of the mount. You would have received the security screw and screwdriver in the box, and the manual shows how to install it. Let us know if you continue to have any issues.
