    The Varia alerts you to vehicles approaching from behind, giving you time to adjust/maintain your course.

    Works perfectly

    If you want to enjoy your riding with greater safety, than this product is for you. It alerts you to drivers, indicates how far behind they are and how quickly they are approaching. I use it with a garmin 530 head unit. Very handy for country or regional roads. Haven't tried on main roads but would probably be useless there.

    Pros: Safer ride equals happier rider

    Brilliant Radar Device - Highly Recommended

    This product works exactly as it's described and intended. The 60 lumens Red light is absolutely bright enough and is easily seen a few hundreds meters away. As vehicles approach from behind, my Garmin Edge 520 makes a Beep sound to notify me the vehicle has entered into the range of the Radar (150 meters, but I think longer on flat roads). The Edge also indicates on the side of the screen a little white dot, representing the vehicle that starts moving along the track towards the top. The screen also changes colour to either Yellow or Red which indicates how fast the vehicle is approaching your position. Your position is the little dot next to the WiFi symbol on the top right hand side of the Edge screen. It also displays multiple white dots if there are more than one vehicle approaching. Once all vehicles within the range of the radar have passed and there's no more approaching your position, the screen will turn Green, indicating its now clear. I've test this every time I ride and I can promise you its incredibly accurate! Please always use common sense and although this is incredibly accurate, always take a sneaky look behind you before changing lanes or turning...just to be sure and 100% safe always. The accuracy of the Garmin Varia radar gives me that added level of safety and security while on solo rides and when riding in larger groups on the road. I also don't believe vehicles can "sneak up" behind you without the radar detecting them, and this is particularly useful when climbing mountains or rolling hills. You shouldn't depend on the Varia completely, but you pretty much can. What you can't see is that the Varia light blinks when a vehicle is within the range of the radar to serve as an additional warning to the motorist. It increases your awareness and gives you greater peace of mind. The battery life is outstanding and I haven't yet ran out of battery life, even after 6 hr rides almost completely in the dark in flashing mode. Some critics will tell you its quite pricey for just a rear light and radar device...but seriously, the cost of the Varia Radar is no more than what you'd expect to pay for a decent front or tail light and it's totally worth the investment! I couldn't recommend it highly enough! I just wished I'd purchased one well before I started riding greater distances and through hilly terrain. If you're serious about riding and often go on Solo rides, the don't question it, go out and buy one today. You'll be glad you did. 5 STARS.

    Pros: Bright Light; Light weight; Easy Set Up and Connection; Alert sounds; Extremely accurate radar;
    Cons: Would be great to have a USB-C charge port for faster charging in next model.
