Built to Thrill

The Zumo 395 LM now features Garming Adventurous Routing™ options for those twisty, hilly, terrain-hugging rides that you love all displayed on a bright, glove-friendly 4.3 inch touchscreen that's easy to read and intuitive to use.

Hands-free Calling

Make and receive wireless calls by simply syncing your compatibly smartphone and a Bluetooth-enabled compatible headset or helmet (sold separately), removing the need to take off your gloves or remove your helmet. Keep your phone safe and tucked away in your pocket or a saddlebag and have the use of hands-free calling while staying safe and undistracted on the road.

Listen to Your Tunes While Traveling

Bring your music library with you for the ride by connecting your compatible MP3 Player or Smartphone and take control of the music with touchscreen controls on your display.

Rider Alerts to Keep You Aware On The Road

The zumo 395LM provides helpful alerts for sharp curves ahead, speed changes, railroad and animal crossing, school zones and more to enhance road awareness and encourage a safer ride. You are also notified when you may need to check state helmet laws or when you're about to go down the wrong on a one-way street. You also receive alerts for nearby red light and speed cameras. Fatigue warnings will suggest break times and potential rest stops worth considering for longer rides. See places of interest and milestones on your route without leaving the map view on your navigation display with the zumo Up Ahead feature and Easy Route Shaping lets you ad a point on your map to adjust your route if you have preferred areas or specific rows you want to ride on.

In-built Dynamic Fuel Tracking

With a built-in trip computer and digital fuel gauge you'll always be able to easily estimate how much longer you can ride before you need to fill up the tank. Dynamic fuel stop alerts prompt you when it's time to refuel and show service station location options. The zumo 395LM also comes with a helpful speed limit indicator so you know when to slow down. A digital compass display and a database of motorcycle-specific points of interest (POIs) are also available to help you locate cycle repair services, dealers and more. You can also keep track of your service dates, mileage and performed maintenance on your bike with the Service History Log feature on your zumo.

Lifetime Map Updates

Your zumo 395LM comes with free lifetime map updates for the useful life of your device, so routes reflect the most up-to-date points of interest and maps available.

Navigation Tools

Lane assist with junction view displays intersections and interchanges on your route to easy navigation through complex transitions. A brightly colored arrow on the zumo display let's you know which lane you have to be in for your next turn or exit. The zumo also comes with the TracBack®l feature which let's you navigate the same route, in reverse, for your return trip.

Monitor Your Tire Pressure

As an added accessory, the Garmin Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor (TPMS, sold separately) is compatible with the zumo 395LM. One TPMS is required for each tire and works with metal valve stems only. TPMS uses wireless technology to transmit the tire pressure data, letting you view it in real time right on your zumo display.

Another cool Garmin product. Reliable kit!

I did quite a bit of research before this purchase. Must admit I was a bit sceptical as there were several online complaints with the 395LM. I'm happy to say none of these have presented themselves. One of the complaints was the difficulty to view the screen in direct sunlight. I've not had any issues what so ever. My mount has the 395LM directly in my line of sight. Not angled. This may help with the vision of the gps. Another is that you can't convert routes to tracks. This too has not been a problem for me. Admittedly some have said that the tracks are only imported as straight lines (point to point) instead of tracking the trail. I have had both the jagged track and a curved following of the imported track and I'm not sure why??? I couldn't justify the extra cash required for the 595LM although the texts on screen would have been handy. I have it BT'ed to both my phone and intercom and it works a treat.

Pros: Works how it's meant to. Great features!
Cons: Exxy compared to the tintop options.

So far so good but it needs a wiring harness that plugs into the usb outlet already on the bike.

Pros: Size and mounts
Cons: Needs a wiring harness to plug into a usb power outlet already on the bike. Fitting theirs is just doubling up on a power supply

Good - with a few conditions

Have had the unit for two weeks and I like the options that are available (route planning etc). It certainly helps me get to where I need to be going and if I miss a turn it recalculates the route reasonably quickly. However the screen is not particularly clear, in a matt finish kind of way, and every so often it will just switch off which is somewhat annoying. This occurs at any time irrespective of whether is is connected to power or operating off the battery and it has to go through the full start up routine to get going again. Having said that, it does retain the route that it had calculated prior to dropping out. I updated the software before using it for the first time however the drop out still persists. It happens infrequently however the fact that it happens at all diminishes the utility of the unit, especially for the price.

Pros: Does the job
Cons: Hard to read, occasionally stops and resets

Hi Keith, your unit should definitely not be resetting by itself. If this persists, please bring it back under your warranty and we'll swap it over for a new one by post or in-store.

Ok but should have more features like the Montana 650

As it is more expensive than a car GPS it would at least let you mark a waypoint and have the ability to change position formats UTM UPS & Lat Long

Pros: Does the job
Cons: Doesn't always give sufficient warning of approaching intersections
Johnny Appleseed GPS responded to this review on the 21 November 2017
Hi Peter, you can definitely enter waypoints in either UTM or geographic positions such as latitude and longitude. You need to add these systems to the list manually the first time, which we can help you do if you can visit us, or call us on 1800 477 477.
