Includes audible alerts when approaching a fixed speed or red light camera.

This GPS Speed Heads Up Display projects your vehicles speed up onto the windscreen, in your line of sight - in bright, large, green numbers. This GPS Speed Heads Up Display projects your vehicles speed up onto the windscreen, in your line of sight - in bright, large, green numbers. These easy to read numbers allow you see at a glance what speed you're travelling, without the need to look down at your dashboard. Projects GPS speed onto the windscreen in driver's line of sight, so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to check your speed. Avoid speeding fines with audible over speed alerts, as well as audible alerts when approaching a fixed speed or red light camera. Max speed 199 km/h.

The fixed speed and red-light cameras can be updated annually. The device must be returned to Polaris for this update, and it is $35 (inc. GST).

The Polaris HUD plus finally gives you an accurate speedo reading without needing to take your eyes off the road. Unlike some of the other heads-up display options on the market, the HUD plus works well in dim and bright conditions. We shot a video testing a bunch of setting and the HUD in different lighting situations to see how it fared..

    Excellent device

Have found it very useful on our recent trip south towing the caravan

    Pros: Clear sounds
Cons: Not all speed cameras give a warning

    audio updates work

I was going to return this item due to the visuals showing back to front, causing confusion whilst driving - also, the double sided tape did not work so unable to place it securely on the dash. Instead, I kept the item and have placed it where I cant see it, but can hear the warning advices. Happy to do that - what does one expect for the small price of $121.40

Pros: it recognises red light cameras and speed cameras
Cons: visual numbers show up back to front causing confusing whilst driving

Hi Maureen, it seems like you may be using the device incorrectly. It is designed to project the numbers onto your windscreen, which is why they are mirrored - so that the reflection is around the right way. If you want the same device to just look at, you would need to buy the HUD Digital.

    Excellent, well worth the investment

Unit is easy to install on dashboard and also easy to set up. You can place it in the best position for your view. I have mine on the lower right side of screen which is easy to see. I am looking at option of hard wiring the unit to keep car socket clear. I made a big mistake with putting the film on the screen and had to get another one which went on better. You need to use plenty of soapy water to stop it sticking straight away. I have set up the over speed warnings which are clear to hear. It is also good that there there are warnings for red light and speed cameras, but the unit need to be updated regularly to keep up with the changes. Very happy with the unit and good value when you consider speeding fines. Highly recommended.

Pros: Easy to mount the unit in best position
Cons: If not careful easy to make mistake in placing the film to windscreen. Once on screen cannot be moved.

This is essential for those big road trips!!

Having your speed right in front of view means you can monitor it without the distraction of looking at your speedo. It is especially good if your speedo is not properly collaborated. This GPS system means that your speed is spot on. I have checked it against those bill board signs that give you your speed as you approach and it is always identical. I ordered it for a friend who is very pleased with it. I find it is best position in line with the 10 o'clock position on your steering wheel, about 1/3 of the way up the screen. It is not in a position that will block your line of sight.

    Pros: Very easy to install
    Cons: Nothing!!

Brilliant. I use this to set the speed for my cruise control and haven't worried a copper since.

This is my second Polaris - after 4 years on the dash in bright sunshine the early model faded and became unreadable, and the hinge that set the angle could not handle corrugations on dirt roads - other than that it did everything I expected. I tried a cheaper replacement from SuperCheap, but it was less accurate than the car speedo and they gave me a full refund. I did a net search for Polaris and found Johnny Appleseed were a distributor. JA have always given me great support in the past, so I placed an order and Bingo the new model Polaris turned up and is now working perfectly - using the wiring and reflective strip from the original.

Pros: Consistently accurate at all speeds (confirmed by RMS, Police, and other GPS sources)
