The SPOT Gen3 device requires an active service subscription to properly perform messaging, tracking, S.O.S. capabilities and all other device functions. All subscriptions auto-renew at the end of the contract term.
* Enrolment in any Flex Plan is subject to an Annual Flex Charge that is collected once per year at renewal, even if the device is suspended at that time.
This Flex charge allows you to suspend the service at any time during the year without activation fee recurrence when turning service on again. All Flex Plans have a one month minimum term.
** All Annual & Flex plans are subject to a one-time activation fee. Early termination of the service agreement will require a customer to pay an Early Termination Fee to the amount of
100% of the outstanding balance of the contract, plus the full amount of any credits issued during the Term (including promotions).

Enhanced Services ONLY available with SPOT Gen3:
SPOT Gen3's customised tracking features take your SPOT experience to the next level. Only with SPOT Gen3, is tracking motion-activated regardless of the level of tracking you choose (Basic, Unlimited or Extreme). A vibration sensor tells your SPOT to send track updates when you are moving and to stop when you do. This is a great new battery-saving feature!
New Tracking Options:
Unlimited Tracking: Set it and forget it. Pre-set your SPOT Gen3 to send tracks at the speed of your adventures. Change your tracks to send every 5, 10, 30, or 60 minutes. SPOT Gen3 will send tracks at your chosen rate for as long as your device is turned on and moving (no need to re-set after 24 hours). Tracking doesn't stop until you do.
With a clear view of the sky and a single set of 4 Lithium 8x batteries, the following battery life can be expected (assuming ~9hrs of constant movement per day):
2.5min Interval: 20 days
5.0min Interval: 25 days
10min Interval: 45 days
30min Interval: 50 days
Extreme Tracking: Get all of the great features of Unlimited Tracking, but with the added ability to vary your track rate down to every two and a half minutes. Don't miss a step with increased track rates!

Compact and light weight; Weighing only 114g (with batteries), it packs easily for traveling.
The Spot Gen3 has a long battery life, and you can choose from Lithium or rechargeable batteries; or line-power the unit through its USB port.
There are new tracking options: now you can choose the rate of tracking that suits your adventure (2 ½, 5, 10, 30, or 60 minutes).
Motion activated tracking: now your SPOT knows when you're moving and when you stop to make camp. When SPOT Gen3 senses you've stopped for an extended period of time it will stop sending track messages until you start moving again.
Please note that the continuous tracking will automatically disable after 24 hours in the basic plan, until the track button is pressed again. If you require continuous tracking when the device will be unattended, then you will need to upgrade to the extreme or unlimited tracking plans.

Track Progress
Send and save your location and allow contacts to track your progress using Google Maps™.
This feature allows friends and family to follow your progress in real time using your password, or to save waypoints so you can review your entire route at a later date.
By selecting the desired "Track" messages in your account log and clicking "Show On Map", your entire route can be displayed through Google Maps™.

Check In/OK
Let contacts know where you are and that you're okay - worldwide.
This feature allows you to let your SPOTteam - the friends and family you have chosen as your contacts - know that all is well, notify them of your location, or save waypoints so you can review your route at a later date.
When you press the OK button, SPOT acquires your location from the GPS network and routes it through the SPOT satellite network. Your contacts receive either an SMS text message on their mobile phone with your message and coordinates, or an email with your message and a link to Google Maps™ showing your location.
This message can be customised.

Help/SPOT Assist
Request help from friends and family at your exact location.
In the event of a non-life threatening emergency, you can use this function to notify your SPOTteam - the friends and family you have chosen as your contacts - that you need assistance.
Once activated, SPOT acquires your location from the GPS network and routes it along with the HELP message through the SPOT satellite network every five minutes for one hour or until cancelled. Your contacts will receive an SMS text message including coordinates, or an email with a link to Google Maps™ showing your location.

SOS (worldwide)
Dispatch emergency responders to your exact location - worldwide.
Use this function In the event of a life threatening or other critical emergency to notify emergency services of your location and that you need assistance. The GEOS International Emergency Response Center alerts the appropriate agencies worldwide.
Once activated, SPOT will acquire its exact coordinates from the GPS network, and send that location along with a distress message to a GEOS International Emergency Response Center every five minutes until cancelled. The Emergency Response Center notifies the appropriate emergency responders based on your location and personal information - which may include local police, highway patrol, the Coast Guard, our country's embassy or consulate, or other emergency response or search and rescue teams - as well as notifying your emergency contact person(s) about the receipt of a distress signal.
